The 28-year-old forward is free to speak to interested clubs with his contract expiring at the end of June. Dybala’s exit from Juventus was confirmed in January, with the big money arrival of Vlahovic from Fiorentina bringing a halt to contract renewal discussions.

The Argentinian’s contractual demands have put off a number of sides thus far, notably Tottenham Hotspur, with the player demanding in excess of £200k per week and a sizable signing on fee.

Atletico, fresh from releasing Luis Suarez, have space open in their attacking positions for next season. Joao Felix is also rumoured to be unsettled at the Wanda Metropolitano, with his frosty relationship with coach Diego Simeone reaching the press late last year.

Dybala’s agent Jorge Antun is now set for meetings with all interested parties next week, with the player himself confirming his preference to remain in Italy. The attacker will most likely have to lower his salary demands in order to remain in Serie A.
