The Dutch champions have stuck to their £50m valuation throughout the window, with United now bowing to their demands according to Sky Sports. The structure of payments is set to be discussed today, with the player expected to be joining his new team-mates on their pre-season tour as early as next week.

Martinez, 24, is set to be United’s second summer signing following the arrival of Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord. Christian Eriksen also looks set to arrive on a free transfer having agreed a bumper £200k-a-week 3-year-deal according to The Mirror.

United’s deal for Frenkie De Jong however now looks unlikely, with the player refusing to take a wage cut, nor move to United. Any move away from Barcelona could potentially jeopardise the £17m he is currently owed in unpaid wages.
