Coach Manual Pellegrini has a long-standing relationship with the player from their time together at Malaga. At 30 years old the Chilean believes the midfielder still has a great deal to offer on the pitch, and sees his signature a vital reinforcement ahead the 2022-23 La Liga campaign.

Isco is in 9th and final season with the Madrid outfit, and after a total 351 appearances for the club in all competitions, the attacking midfielder is now very much a squad player, with only 15 appearances registered in his final season.

Isco arrival will almost certainly see the departure of Nabil Fekir this summer, with the Betis board expecting sizeable offers to arrive for the Frenchman. According to reports Atletico Madrid are seriously considering a move for the number 8, replacing Rodrigo De Paul who is expected to seal a move back to Serie A.

According to AS in Spain, Isco has already agreed an initial 2 year deal at the Estadio Benito Villamarin with an option for a third. The deal which includes a sizeable singing on fee, and Champions League qualification incentives, is expected to net the Spaniard at least €20m over the period of his contract with Real Betis.
