Arsenal have wrapped up their second summer signing, agreeing a €40m Deal for Porto’s highly rated midfielder Fabio Vieira.
Vieira, 22, came through the ranks at Porto and enjoyed an impressive 2021-22 season scoring 7 goals and providing 16 assists in 34 appearances.
Arsenal have struck a deal with Porto below his €50 million release clause, securing the attacker for an initial €35 million + €5 million in achievable add-ons.
Vieira has been tracked by a host of clubs across Europe since his impressive displays at the 2021 European Under-21 Championships. The midfielder won the player of the tournament award, with his array of passing notably standing out.
The Portuguese midfielder is Arsenal’s second summer signing following the arrival of Brazilian youth international Marquinos from Sao Paulo.
Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus and Leicester’s Youri Tielemans are two deals still in the works for the north London side. City’s £50m valuation of forward Jesus reportedly holding up the deal currently.
