As reported by Sky Sports Germany, Embolo will join the French outfit on a five-year-deal and will be Monaco’s second summer signing following the acquisition of Takumi Minamino.

Embolo, 25, is expected in France today to undertake medical examinations and sign his agreement. The move puts an end of speculation linking the Principality with Italian free agent Andrea Belotti, as confirmed yesterday by journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The attacker has spent three seasons with Mönchengladbach following his arrival from Schalke in 2019. Deployed on the wings and through the middle, Embolo scored 25 goals and provided 20 assists in 106 appearances for Borussia.

Monaco are cash rich following the exit of Aurélien Tchouaméni to Real Madrid for €100m this summer. Further re-enforcements are still expected with the Philippe Clément’s side still short on numbers in central midfield.
